Start with the welcome.
Create an account and verify your email for the public welcome area. Request community access privately with a short introduction and agreement to our guidelines. Pseudonyms, beginners, and brief answers are welcome.
A place to write, to share, and to keep becoming the writer you want to be.
The RTW forum is open: a home for conversations that can unfold over time, and discussions worth finding again. We’re making the move from Discord together. Please create a forum account; Discord accounts, message history, and manuscripts have not been transferred.
Our members bring different experiences, ambitions, and ways of seeing the world. A new writer and an experienced author each have something to offer, and something to learn.
Friendship and shared curiosity are at the heart of this community. We ask how we can support one another, make room for different voices, and keep a curious, questioning mind.
Some conversations need time to grow. Our forum gives them a home: a place to return to a question, discover a useful resource, or hear how someone else’s writing is going.
Welcome to RTW is publicly readable. The four main areas and the Academy’s Entrance Hall are private to welcomed members; the Workshop remains a separate critique circle. Request community access to join the conversations below. Check the audience before sharing your work.
Say hello, talk books, share an inspiration, or follow a conversation somewhere unexpected. Friendship belongs in a writing life, too.
Around the Table (members)Ask about craft or publishing, add something to the shared shelf of resources, and celebrate the work we’re sending into the world.
The Writing Life (members)Find company for a word sprint, name a small intention, or plan a write-in. Showing up counts, whatever your word count.
Writing Together (members)Learn how critique works, ask about taking part, and find the right audience for your work. Deeper feedback grows from trust and reciprocity.
The Academy (members)Our write-ins make space for focused writing and friendly conversation. Work on your own project, get to know other writers, and share a small piece of what you’ve made if you feel like it.
Social gatherings offer another way to connect: conversation, creative exchange, and the occasional reading. Check the upcoming events below for confirmed dates.
Publicly scheduled writing sessions and community gatherings appear here. Each event has its own attendance information.
No public events are currently listed. Read about write-ins and getting together.
Read the public welcome and create a forum account. Verify your email, then request community access with a little about your writing life and agreement to our guidelines. Straightforward requests may receive an automated completeness check on our own machine; uncertain requests go to a moderator. You can ask for a human review. Joining is free; publications and an MFA are not required.

Once welcomed into the private community, join a conversation about craft, share what you’re working on, or find company for a write-in. You can return at your own pace.
Offer a welcome, share what you know, and help keep the table a generous place.
