Choose what you share.

Bring the part of your writing life you want to share. Keep control of the rest.

Know who can read a space

Welcome to RTW is public: visitors and search engines can read it. Creating an account and verifying your email gives you access to that welcome area only. The wider community is restricted to welcomed members. The Workshop is a separate critique circle. Staff have moderation and administration tools. A restricted space is not a guarantee against somebody copying what they can read.

Keep unpublished work out of image uploads

Our current setup does not protect uploaded image URLs. Anyone with the link may be able to open an image even when its topic is private. For a manuscript, use a restricted text post or a document whose sharing permissions you control. Check those permissions yourself before posting the link.

Ask permission before redistributing somebody else's writing or critique, including putting it into an AI service. Read the writer's requested focus and respect what they are ready to receive. This welcome automation does not assess manuscripts, creative quality, publication history or academic credentials.

What the welcome check reads

Your community-access request goes privately to the group owners. A small model on RTW's own machine may check whether your short answers address writing, participation and agreement to our guidelines. It receives only that request; this workflow does not read your forum posts or manuscripts. The hosted workflow receives request IDs, hashes and decisions, not the introduction itself.

Straightforward requests may receive basic membership automatically. Uncertainty, incomplete answers, requests for a person, or a failed model check go to a moderator. There are no automated rejections. A pseudonym, a brief answer, or nonstandard grammar is welcome. This is a completeness check, not identity verification or a promise that every admitted person is trustworthy.

This website and your browser.

The public website runs on Cloudflare, with editorial content in Sanity. It currently has no member accounts of its own and no added analytics or newsletter service. The appearance control saves your choice in your browser. The forum has its own session and preference settings. External links take you to services with their own practices.

Email, backups, and getting help

Forum notifications can contain post or private-message text and use our email provider. Encrypted offsite forum backups also contain community content. Do not post passwords, identity documents or anything you would not want to entrust to this setup. The public website currently has no member accounts of its own.

You can ask for human review in your request or reply privately to its message. Use the flag/report control on a post or message to ask for moderation help. For private reports or help while the forum is offline, email hello@roundtablewriters.org. Cloudflare forwards these contact emails to RTW’s administrator. Please avoid sending sensitive identity details or manuscripts. There is no promise of around-the-clock moderation.

Please ask before posting material where a publisher's submission or first- publication rules could matter; those requirements vary. RTW does not guarantee that private sharing satisfies a particular publisher's rules.
